Lisa Barsness is currently a Clinical Director at the Lovaas Institute Midwest, an organization that provides home-based Intensive Early Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) for young children with autism. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and St. Cloud State University with a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
She has 28 years of experience supervising EIBI programs in Wisconsin and Minnesota, and has conducted numerous workshops across the United States, Canada and England. In 2005, Lisa co-founded the Minnesota Early Autism Project, Inc. (MEAP) with Glen Sallows, Tammlyn Sallows and Travis Thompson.
In addition to being a current board member of the Autism Recovery Foundation, Lisa has also enjoyed time as a board member for the Minnesota Northland Association for Behavior Analysis (MNABA), Sherburne County Mental Health Collaborative, and AUCD’s Autism Task Force in Minnesota. She has also been a contributor to a book published in 2011 by Brookes Publishing with Dr. Travis Thompson.
Lisa lives in St. Louis Park, Minnesota with her husband, Boyd, and their 2 spoiled cats. She enjoys going to the Farmers Market and thrift shopping with her daughter, Mina, who attends the University of Minnesota, and trying out new hobbies as an empty nester.
